Day Five- Grandma's Girl

My grandmother is someone that has always been very special to me. She has always been there for me no matter what the situation may be.  Growing up I spent a lot of time with my grandma and most of my fondest memories are with her.  One thing that I cherish is being able to watch my daughter spend time with my grandmother. We are very blessed to have my grandmother watch our daughter while we are working instead of her being in daycare.  This has created a very strong bond between the two of them. So to showcase the relationship that Emma and my grandmother have I made a scrapbook page for them. The font on this page was cut out from the Jasmine cartridge and layered too. Enjoy!

Day Four- Altered Notebook

Once again I am a day late on my posting. School kept me very busy yesterday. Anyways this post is all about altered notebooks.  I made this notebook for my bestfriends' daughter.  During the back to school sales I usually stock up on composition notebooks for these projects.  I enjoy doing these because little girls love having things with their name on it but when you have a unique name its hard to find stuff, trust me I know. I was always upset as a younger child because they never had my name on keychains, mugs, or other things like that. Basically what I did was used a 8-1/2 X 11 sheet of paper and traced the outline of the notebook and cut that out. Then for the pink strip down the side I cut 3 inches wide and then traced it to match the length.  I put ribbon on the notebook to give it a little extra detail.  The bee in the corner of the notebook was cut out using Once Upon a Time cartridge and I cut it out on size number 2. The lettering was cut out on setting number 3.  Below are the pictures of the notebook. Enjoy!

Day Three - Jalapeno Cheddar Bread

Yesterday was a little bit of chaos in this house. My fiance left for his ice fishing trip, and so I had kind of a girls day with Emma.  Before he left for his fishing trip he requested a loaf of Jalapeno Cheddar Bread. I found this recipe last fall because we had tons of jalapenos from our mini vegetable garden. Here is the link to the recipe Jalapeno Cheddar Bread.  The recipe calls for all purpose flour but I use bread flour. Doing this gives it a much more dense and ready for sandwiches.  I also left the seeds in when I added the jalapenos, however this is optional. My fiance loves his food spicy. Below are my pictures from  when I made the bread.

Day Two - Another Birthday Card

As I have stated in the past the beginning of the year is full of birthdays for our family.  This card was for my future sister-in-law.  She is a child at heart and so I wanted to do something fun for her. I used a lot of color with this card and glitter too.  For the cupcake I used the preloaded cartridge that came with my Circuit Expression 2 and I cut it out on setting number 5.  Once the cupcake was put together I traced the inside of it with my bright blue Stickles.  In the picture you cant see it but the card is actually a glitter background.

Day One- Birthday Card

As I said last week I will be posting a new project each day this week. I am super excited. I made a birthday card for my coworker's granddaughter.  Over the years our families have become close. For this card I used my Baby Steps Cartridge.  I cut the cupcake out on size number 4. For the top of the candle I used my Stickles to give it a sparkle, I also did the same with the purple on the cupcake liner with my purple Stickles.  This card didn't take that long to make but I know that my coworker will love it.

Emma's Birthday Party and Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes!

Saturday my little girl turned 2! I am still amazed at how much she has grown and how fast time is flying. Each day she challenges me more than I ever thought possible.  I cant imagine our lives without this spirited little girl.

For her birthday I couldnt just order a boring cake. I had to make something unique and different. So after some time on Pinterest I found this idea. I made the cupcakes baked inside of ice cream cones. And it didnt stop there, of course I had to make homemade buttercream frosting too. They were delicous, and everyone loved them.

Ice-Cream Cone Cupcakes Recipe

1 Box of Favorite Cake Mix
24 Flat bottom Ice Cream Cones
1 Bag of Chocolate Candy Melts

First mix together you cake mix (you can make your own from scratch, its just a little bit of a time saver).  Then set that aside, using a mini muffin pan start to place the ice cream cones in the muffin pan.  Next I put 1 candy melt at the bottom of the ice cream cone, this gives it a little extra wieght at the bottom because they get to be a little top heavy.  Now start filling the ice cream cones with the cake batter, I used about 1/4 cup of batter for this. I thought it was going to be to much at first but it turned out to be just enough. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. I do this step last so that the batter can finish settling in the cones.  They will bake for 25-30 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean. Take them out of the muffin pan and let them cool. Once they are cooled frost them and decorate them. Enjoy!
